How It Began

In 1992 there was a group of girls aged around 10 who didn’t have a club or a team and boys clubs were not interested. So, a football crazy person called Sue Hiscox decided to do something about it and arranged for this group of girls to get together in a local hall, and so the journey began.

The aim at the point of creation was to provide a safe place for local girls from the area to train and play football. Year on year more girls came, and the junior club grew and then the decision was made to create a ladies teams as well to give girls a pathway.

Fast Forward to Today

In 2019, the club took the bold decision to move all of our teams to Pomphrey Hill in Mangotsfield which is just a stone’s throw from Downend. Over the course of the next couple of years more and more teams moved and today we have 23 of our 24 teams playing across the site.
