Newhall FC is one of south Derbyshire’s leading junior grassroots football clubs offering many opportunities for youth football.
Our club exists to promote football for boys and girls aged 4 – 18, whatever their standard. You don’t even have to play the game! Mums, Dads, Carers, Grandmas and Grandads are very welcome as supporters and have a valuable role to play in making the club a success.
Our programme includes a FREE Soccer School for children up to the age of 6 year olds, Mini-soccer for boys and girls under 12 years of age and an extensive programme of youth and girls football, age ranges 13 – 18, all in local leagues. All of Newhall FC teams have qualified coaching sessions at least once per week.
Newhall FC has to be virtually self-sufficient, surviving on very limited sponsorship, player match and training fees, our own fund raising efforts and lots of goodwill. We pride ourselves on being ‘enjoyment focused’ and as volunteers work hard to provide our players with the necessary equipment and facilities to enjoy and develop their football, at whatever level.
The enthusiasm and commitment from both parents and volunteer coaches and committee members has helped to form a distinctive family orientated club that has evolved beyond expectation and which has become a highly regarded asset by the local community.
Founded in 1978 Newhall F.C. has a long-standing history of being involved with junior and youth football in the South Derbyshire region, and celebrated its 25th Anniversary in the year 2003. Formally known as Newhall Boys F.C., the name was changed in 2002 in recognition of the many girls becoming playing members at the club. A more detailed history can be found on our history page of this website.
Over the past 30 years Newhall F.C. has grown steadily. We usually have around 18 teams playing League football and along with our soccer school trainees this means that over 250 children aged between 4 and 18 are developing their football and social skills with Newhall F.C, something we all at Newhall FC. take great pleasure from.
Newhall FC’s transformation has been supported and praised by the Football Association, who in 2003 awarded the club Charter Standard Accreditation. The ‘Charter Standard’ kite mark is only awarded to clubs and leagues that are well run, sustainable, which place child protection, quality coaching and safety as paramount. Our Charter Standard Accreditation was successfully renewed in 2007, 2011 and annually since then.
The club has a number of junior grassroots football teams which play in the Burton Junior Football League and the Derby Junior Football League.
