Thurso United FC

Thurso United FC are a Scottish Junior FA affiliated team, offering opportunities for Junior football in the Caithness Boys Football Association.

The club was formed in 2013 after the merger of Pentland Boys Club, Thurso Junior Swifts and Thurso Youth Football Club.

Thurso United FC are responsible for providing football for all children aged 5 to 16 years old. Currently affiliated to the Scottish Youth FA and in progress to be recognised by the Scottish FA under their Quality Mark Scheme.

We are committed to providing football to all Boys and Girls on a non-profit basis, relying solely on volunteers. This ensures we can continue to invest all the money we raise back into grass roots football across Thurso.

National Player Pathway

Thurso United FC  is aligned to the SFA National Player Pathway which takes players through various stages of development from age 5 through to 16. Aged 5-8 is a 4v4 or 5v5 fun, festival, trophy free philosophy with the objective to provide physical activity and basic skills through participation. Aged 9-12 is a 7v7 festival, trophy free environment with the main objective being skill acquisition and building those necessary for the game. Aged 13 and above is 11v11 competitive, trophy football based on developing the player technically and tactically with the coach fostering the natural desire to compete.

All our coaches provide a positive learning environment with a focus on enjoyment and long-term development.

The club has junior grassroots football teams which play in the Caithness Boys Football Association.
