East of England is one of the nine official regions of England including Bedford, Luton, Basildon, Peterborough, Southend-on-Sea, Norwich, Ipswich, Colchester, Chelmsford and Cambridge. The southern part of the region lies in the London commuter belt.
There are seven FA Counties in the East of England – Bedfordshire FA, Cambridgeshire FA, Essex FA, Hertfordshire FA, Huntingdonshire FA, Norfolk FA and Suffolk FA. Each of these are responsible for developing and supporting all grassroots football within each of their separate counties.
